As TXC works to establish our 100,000,000 mh/s mine strategy, we're evaluating sites and energy resources. In general, we plan to have (35) 1-MegaWatt containers spread throughout the state of Texas.
There are FOUR key criteria we use to evaluate site options:
1 - Is a MegaWatt of power available?
Electricity is not an unlimited resource. Some areas have access to more of it than others. If you're in an area that has old infrastructure and is far outside of civilization, it may be difficult or impossible to deploy the capacity we require to run a full container of ASICS.
2 - What's the cost to install 3-phase 480 volt power?
Transmission lines aren't cheap, and though the utility provider may be required by law to provide electricity, they don't have to do it for free. If the site is located far from sufficient quantities of 3-phase power (that's the pole that's got 4+ wires strung between them), it will be extremely expensive to get the power delivered to our ASICS.
3 - What's the KWH price for electricity?
If we can get a contract rate for about 7¢ per kilowatt hour (kwh), then we're at least barely competitive in the global conversation. While the rate isn't EXTREMELY important because we're competing against each other to mine TXC, we're still also mining DOGE and LTC to pay the bills. So, we want those electricity bills to be as cheap as possible.
4 - What's the cost to buy or lease the land?
Very little in life is free, and so we're happy to pay to use the land that is home to our mining resources. The cost of this lease has to be factored into the total cost of ownership.
5 - Is the potential site geographically diversified?
Our goal is to spread our mining assets broadly across the state of Texas, to give our network the greatest level of redundancy and fault tolerance. We will research various aspects of the power grid, and try to place our ASICS in strategic locations that balance our load and give us the greatest possibility of uptime.
If you have a site in mind, evaluate these criteria and bring answers along with your suggested site option for consideration. And THANKS for helping us grow the TXC mine!
